CMYK to Pantone finds the Pantone spot colors closest to a four-color build, so a process color from an existing file can be matched to a spot ink for packaging, signage or merchandise.
Enter the cyan, magenta, yellow and black percentages. The tool converts the build to Lab and ranks the Pantone Solid Coated or Uncoated chips by Delta E 2000. Because CMYK gamut is smaller than the spot library, most builds have a close spot match; the reverse is not always true.
Common uses: moving a brand from a CMYK-only logo to spot printing, matching a printed piece to a Pantone for embroidery or plastics, and checking what a printer's proposed spot substitution will look like.
Enter the four percentages. The closest Pantone references are listed with Delta E.
Yes. The same build looks different under FOGRA39 (European coated), GRACoL (North American sheetfed) or Japan Color, so the match here assumes a standard coated condition. For critical work, confirm the chosen chip with a drawdown.
It is the closest reference by measured color difference; confirm with a physical guide and, for critical colors, a drawdown from the printer.
