Searched 45 of ~2,390 Solid Coated colors - the v1 seed dataset. A weak match here usually means the dataset doesn't cover that region yet, not that no close Pantone exists.
About these matches → The Color Tools uses a community-curated dataset of Pantone approximations and CIEDE2000 perceptual color difference. A lower ΔE generally indicates a closer color-value match. Acceptable tolerances depend on the production process, materials, and measurement conditions. For production-critical matches, confirm against an official Pantone swatch book.

What is the hex to pantone?

HEX to Pantone finds the closest Pantone Solid Coated and Uncoated references for any HEX color, ranked by Delta E 2000, so a web color can be handed to a printer as a spot-color shortlist.

From a web color to a Pantone reference

The HEX is converted to CIELAB and compared with every chip in the library. The five closest are listed with their Delta E, their own HEX for comparison, and a coated or uncoated toggle. A Delta E under 2 means the chip is a visually exact match on screen; under 5 is a workable substitute; above that, the color has no close spot equivalent and the shortlist shows the nearest options so you can adjust the design instead.

From any result, the Pantone to CMYK and Pantone to HEX tools give the chip's process build and screen values.

HEX to Pantone FAQ

How do I convert a HEX code to a Pantone color?

Paste the HEX here. The closest Pantone references are listed with a Delta E distance for each; the lowest number is the closest match.

Is there an exact Pantone for every HEX?

No. Pantone has about 2,400 solid chips and HEX describes 16.7 million colors, so most HEX values fall between chips. The Delta E tells you how far.

Should I use Coated or Uncoated?

Coated for gloss and silk stock, labels and cartons; Uncoated for uncoated offset paper, kraft and stationery.

Can I match a whole palette to Pantone?

Yes. Run each color here, or use Image to Pantone with a palette image to get matches for every swatch in one pass.
